The founder of the Essential Work(er)s Project, Tim Peck is an American composer and performer based in Brooklyn, NY. His albums, Rivulets, and Ms. Matched, explore jazz’s contemporary conversational possibilities. He has over 20 years of experience teaching all styles of piano, guitar, bass, composition, and sound design.
Currently, Tim works as an educational consultant. He has taught workshops on collaboration, active listening, and connection at the Longy School of Music of Bard College, Skidmore College, and Pomfret School. He has been a regular presenter at the International Society for Improvised Music, and held composition fellowship at theVirginia Center for the Creative Arts (Amherst, VA), Moulin à Nef (Auvillar, France), and Willapa Bay AiR (Oysterville, WA).
Tim received his Master of Music in Modern American Music from the Longy School of Music of Bard College in Cambridge, MA.
